Objectives
The primary objective of Shrimad Dayanand Bal Sadan is to provide a blend of traditional and modern education, secured shelter and nourishment to orphan, abandoned or surrendered children. Gurukul education or traditional Vedic education is essential for the holistic development of children. Along with modern education, the focus is also on skill and personality development.
The overarching objective is to bring them to the Main stream of the society and also train the children in such a way so that they can go out and educate masses, and inform them about the richness of Indian values, Vedic culture and traditions.

Living Arrangements
The echo of Vedic, Upanishad hymns and Mantras coupled with divine fragrance of 'Havan' makes the whole environment of Shrimad Bal Sadan serene and holy. Moreover, chanting of Swasti Vachan by children living in the Sadan adds to the divinity of the place.
Here every child, irrespective of his background, is treated with care. There is no discrimination based on caste colour and creed or religion. All children are the creation of God. No child in Bal Sadan is orphan, we take adequate parenting and care. They all get the same food, clothing and education.

Education of Children
The children are taught by a group of dedicated teachers who are trained and masters of theirs own subjects. School in the campus is affiliated with U.P. Board (upto class xiii). Several students in the past have qualified the board examination conducted by the UP board in first division. Besides formal education, a lot of emphasis is given on moral education of the children so that in future they can play a constructive and useful roles as citizen.

Gaushala
The bal sadan has a gaushala which houses about two dozen cows and calves. This is an important part of the institute. The cowshed was constructed in such a way so as to save cows from extreme weather conditions and ensure proper fodder facilities for them. It was also in fulfillment of the larger societal goal of protecting cows. For the Bal Sadan, it has much more signioficance as the cows provide fresh milk which is served to children every day.

The Campus
The campus consists of well-maintained hostels, Sanskrit Bhawan, Yoga Bhawan and a library to cater to the needs and aspirations of growing children as well as the donors and the society at large. The children live in adequate comfort and hygiene and it is the constant endeavor of the management to provide them with all the facilities required for their growth and development, both physical and moral.

Arya Samaj Mandir
Arya Samaj Mandir,Motinagar, Lucknow is duly registered with Arya Pratinidhi Sabha, U.P. Lucknow and this makes it a legal entity for holding marriages. Campus can accomodate more than 100 four wheelers. Mandir is also having big halls for lunch/ dinner adjacent to Yagshala.
Sanskar:
In the Vedic Tradition, there are sixteen religious ceremonies known as Sanskars or the Sacraments of Life. The Sanskars are performed for the physical, social, and spiritual development of the individual. We at Shrimad Dayanand Bal Sadan have good and learned priests who perform these 16 Sanskaras.

Tree plantation and Farming
Bal Sadan is fully alive to the need of greening environment and makes full use of the vast stretch of campus land for planting trees. As global citizens, the children know their responsibilities and obligations to nature and the mother earth. They undertake tree plantation drive with a view to contributing their bit to the green environment efforts.
As part of the drive, trees of variety of fruits are planted all across the campus. These trees have started yielding fruits and that too in abundance. There is never shortage of either seasonal fruits at the campus. Fruits like banana, guava, mango, jack fruit, Bel, Indian gooseberry etc. are always in abundance for the children. Different varieties of vegetables are also grown inside the campus for the children.

Clean water
The campus needs adequate water supply for children and irrigation. In order to overcome the shortage and ensure regular supply of water, the management installed three submersible pumps and built four large over head tanks.

Road Ahead

selfless individuals driven by the zeal to do something good for the society.
